The new GMC Sierra has a 2,280-pound maximum payload rating and a 13,000-pound maximum towing rating (1,000-pound increase), when equipped with the Duramax turbodiesel engine. Philadelphia customers can choose between the following GMC Sierra 1500 engines:

  • 4.3-liter V6: 285 horsepower, 305 pound-feet of torque
  • 2.7-liter turbocharged inline-4: 310 horsepower, 348 pound-feet of torque
  • 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-6: 277 horsepower, 460 pound-feet of torque
  • 5.3-liter V8: 355 horsepower, 383 pound-feet of torque
  • 6.2-liter V8: 420 horsepower, 460 pound-feet of torque

Design

Philadelphia drivers will love the six-function Multi-Pro tailgate, in addition to the GMC Sierra 1500's three cab designs and three truck bed configurations.

  • Regular Cab: Long Box (98.4-inch truck bed)
  • Double Cab: Standard Box (79.4-inch truck bed)
  • Crew Cab: Standard Box or Short Box (69.9-inch truck bed)
Additional design features include an updated front fascia and prominent C-shape headlights. The AT4 is a high-performance off-roader with a rugged design that includes skid plates, red recovery hooks, a black chrome grille, 18-inch machined aluminum wheels with Dark Grey accents, and an Industry-First Available Carbon-Fiber Composite Bed.

Technology

The GMC Sierra 1500's innovative ProGradeâ„¢ Trailering system uses 15 unique camera angles, including transparent trailer view, to simplify towing for Newtown Square drivers. Jackknife Alert and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System are additional towing tech features.

A Rear Camera Mirror and a First-In-Class Head-Up Display are available on the AT4 model, while other GMC Sierra 1500 pickups pack a GMC Infotainment System, Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, 8-inch touchscreen, a Bose premium audio system, navigation, and an 8-inch Digital Driver Information Center for entertainment and connectivity.

What's New with the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500?

All powertrains remain the same, but the GMC Sierra 1500 lineup gets a shakeup, adding a secondary AT4 model labeled the AT4-X. The GMC Sierra 1500 Denali - the luxury trim - adds even more premium features in the Denali Ultimate configuration, while the base model work truck becomes known as the "Pro".
